In Bangkok, skyscrapers swayed and a building under construction collapsed. There were fatalities and missing persons.
In Bangkok, around 1,000 kilometers from the epicentre, the earthquake caused the collapse of a high-rise building under construction. At least three people were killed and many more are still missing. Rescue teams are working to rescue survivors from the rubble.
Earthquake felt in Thailand
The effects of the earthquake were also felt in other parts of Thailand. In Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai, residents reported swaying buildings, fortunately no major damage has been reported there so far.
