From Mai Khao to Promthep Cape – explore Phuket’s 35 km west coast with its iconic beaches and scenic highlights.
Phuket is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Thailand, but did you know that the current name “Phuket” was only introduced in the 1990s? Before that, the island was known as Junkceylon, Thalang or Chalang. Today, only the name of a shopping center in Patong, the Jungceylon Shopping Mall, reminds us of this past. The name Koh Phuket translates as “Phuket Island”, although the capital is also called “Phuket”.

Why is Phuket so popular?

In addition to beautiful beaches, luxurious resorts and spectacular viewpoints, Phuket offers pleasant weather all year round. The average annual temperature is 28.9 degrees, making the island a perfect destination for sun worshippers.
