The shared van collects several hotels, takes longer and is the cheapest door at ฿490 for the nearby zones. A private van drives straight through – often the better choice for four people with bags. A Grab at the terminal swings in price at night, and the Smart Bus for about ฿100 is not a door-to-door service.
Mai Khao is close and still gets stuck in traffic on Route 402. For Patong, budget 45–75 minutes depending on the time of day. Child seats are not waiting at the luggage belt.
Monsoon doesn’t close HKT; it only slows Route 402. Allow more time for Patong in the afternoon. In high season, arrivals holds more signs than usual.
Report delays on WhatsApp. A private van waits 60–90 minutes within the package; the shared van leaves without you. Look for the sign with your name – not the first tout with a scrap of paper.
From ฿490 in the table. Private to Patong is usually ฿700–1,000, to Kata/Karon a little more; Laguna and Mai Khao have their own zone. The return leg costs the same fare and is booked separately.
To Phuket Town 30–40 minutes, to Patong 45–75, to Kata/Karon 60–90. That is pure driving time – this is not a half-day programme.
The flight number is on the voucher. A private van waits for a window; after that a surcharge applies or a new driver is assigned. That’s exactly why the flight number is mandatory.
Only if you order one at booking. None is waiting at the airport – and on Phuket’s winding roads it’s well worth it for small children.
