You arrive at Klong Jilad pier or in Ao Nang – not at the Railay rock. A hotel-to-pier transfer is included only if it is on the ticket. If you get seasick quickly, take the van over the land bridge: more traffic, fewer waves.
In monsoon the boats stop and the vans keep running. In high season the morning crossings fill up fast. Continuing to Railay costs extra and goes by longtail.
November to April the boat route is pleasant. From May to October, don’t wait until the pier to look for a van – think of it as plan B when you book.
The answer is on your voucher. Ao Nang is not Krabi Town and not Railay. On speedboats, a dry bag protects your luggage.
From ฿900 in the table for the usual sea route. The van can sit under that. Older ฿800 figures came from another route and don’t apply here.
By sea you are faster when the sea cooperates. By land you stay dry – a good choice in monsoon or with lots of bags.
No, Railay has its own page. Here you arrive on the mainland.
Usually 2 to 3 hours plus the transfer to the pier – not a full Samui-style day.
Yes. Life jackets apply on the boats. With a toddler and lots of bags, the van is more relaxed.
