James Bond Island – Koh Tapu in Phang Nga Bay

James Bond Island, officially Koh Tapu (Nail Island), sits within Ao Phang Nga National Park in Phang Nga Province, around 100 km north of Phuket. The striking 20-metre limestone pillar became world-famous when it appeared in the 1974 Bond film The Man with the Golden Gun and has been one of Thailand’s most visited landmarks ever since.

Why the Longtail Boat is the Best Way to See It

The traditional longtail boat is the most authentic vessel in Phang Nga Bay. Its shallow draught and compact size allow it to glide into hidden coves, narrow sea caves, and remote rock formations that are completely off-limits to larger tourist boats. A small group means a flexible, personal experience – a world away from mass tourism.

Koh Panyee – The Floating Fishing Village

Koh Panyee is a Muslim fishing community built entirely on stilts above the waters of Phang Nga Bay. Around 360 families live here – cut off from the mainland, yet with their own school, market, and waterfront restaurants. It’s a unique cultural experience found nowhere else in Thailand.
