The most intense off-road tour in the lineup
This is not a sightseeing trip with a vehicle attached – the ride itself is the highlight. The 1.5-hour format on the ATV 520 means more time on the rougher sections: elevated trails, steeper climbs and ridgeline stretches where the big engine really opens up. Compared with the 1-hour version you cover more ground – and arrive at the Big Buddha with a genuine sense of accomplishment.
Despite the power, the tour welcomes riders aged 5 to 85: the guides customise the pace individually – whether you want to push hard through the jungle or enjoy a controlled, exhilarating ride at your own speed. All vehicles are professionally maintained before each tour; safety gear is mandatory and provided.
The on-site program runs about 9:00–11:00 am or 1:00–3:00 pm, plus the hotel transfer (30–90 min). Drivers from 15 years, passengers from 5 years – not suitable for pregnant women or people with back or heart problems or limited mobility.
Good to know: ATVs and buggies are no longer permitted to drive all the way up to the Big Buddha – the ride ends at the foot of Nakkerd Hill and a shuttle takes you to the grounds. - Hotel pickup: Air-conditioned minivan, morning 8:00–8:45 am or afternoon 12:00–12:45 pm – free in Patong, Kata, Karon, Chalong & Rawai, surcharge for outer zones.
- Safety briefing & registration: Helmet, handling of the 520 and trail rules – no driving licence required.
- Practice loop: Warm-up round to get to know the ATV 520’s power and handling.
- ATV 520 ride (about 1.5 hrs): Extended off-road trail over elevated paths, steep climbs and ridgeline sections – ends at the foot of Nakkerd Hill (road up to the Big Buddha closed to ATVs).
- Shuttle transfer: Short transfer up to the Big Buddha grounds.
- Big Buddha: Explore the outdoor area with time to walk – the interior is currently inaccessible due to construction work.
- Viewpoint stop: Ocean views across the Andaman Sea mid-route.
- Skywalk: One of Phuket’s finest elevated ocean panoramas to close the tour.
- Return transfer: Back to your hotel – transfer takes 30–90 min depending on location.
