If the 1-hour buggy tour leaves you wanting more, this is the one to book: the extended route descends deeper into Phuket’s hillside terrain, adds more off-road variety, a longer route to the Big Buddha and more time at each stop. Less rushing, more riding – every stop feels earned.

After the briefing and an extended training area session you take the jungle trail through the hillside; a shuttle then takes you to the Big Buddha grounds with time to walk and photograph, and you continue to a viewpoint stop with sea panorama and close the tour at the Skywalk – Phuket’s most dramatic ocean viewpoint. No licence needed, no experience needed: the tour is designed for everyone aged 5 to 85.

The extended buggy tour has become a favourite for celebrations – birthdays, anniversaries or simply a special day in Phuket. The on-site program runs about 9:00–11:00 am or 1:00–3:00 pm, plus the hotel transfer (30–90 min). Drivers from 15 years, passengers from 5 years – not suitable for pregnant women or people with back problems.

Good to know: ATVs and buggies are no longer permitted to drive all the way up to the Big Buddha – the ride ends at the foot of Nakkerd Hill and a shuttle takes you to the grounds.   1. Hotel pickup: Air-conditioned minivan, morning 8:00–8:45 am or afternoon 12:00–12:45 pm – free in Patong, Kata, Karon, Chalong & Rawai, surcharge for outer zones.
  2. Arrival & safety briefing: Quick, thorough intro to buggy controls and trail etiquette.
  3. Extended training area: More practice time before the jungle route begins.
  4. Buggy ride (about 1.5 hrs): Extended off-road trail through Phuket’s hillside landscape – ends at the foot of Nakkerd Hill (road up to the Big Buddha closed to buggies).
  5. Shuttle transfer: Short transfer up to the Big Buddha grounds.
  6. Big Buddha: Outdoor visit of the iconic statue with time to walk and photograph – the interior is currently inaccessible due to construction work.
  7. Viewpoint stop: Panoramic sea views mid-descent.
  8. Skywalk: Ocean-view finale – the most dramatic viewpoint of the tour.
  9. Return transfer: Back to your hotel – transfer takes 30–90 min depending on location.
